Tulip flame

Tulip flame, originally uploaded by Howard.

Time to raise the bar. Most of the pictures on this blog have been taken with a Sony Ericsson cameraphone, the 3 megapixel K800i. This is a fun thing to use for point-and-shoot photography, but I miss the flexibility of my old film SLR (a Canon EOS). So I’ve bought a Sony A100 digital SLR, going cheap-ish at some stores with the imminent introduction of the A200 and offers image stabilisation, a decent optical zoom (18-70 rather than 55), dust removal, RAW files, bracketed exposures, etc. Lots to get my teeth into.
