This seasonal ornament kicks off the new year; I’m still trying to post one picture a day with the simple goal of recording the passing of events, the things I do or see. Most of the time I will take pictures on my Sony Ericsson K800i cameraphone – a remarkably flexible little camera. The one thing I miss is an optical zoom.
New for 2008 will be Picnik. This seems to go a little further than Picasa (for editing and improving pictures) and is very easy to use. I started using it in the free form a couple of weeks ago, and upgraded to Premium today. I’ll still use Picasa as the primary tool for organising pictures on my PC, but in future most pictures that appear in this blog will be uploaded direct to Flickr and edited there in Picnik.
This picture uses the ‘Orton-ish’ tool, lightly. I’m also able to apply drop-shadow effects on the border.
