A new stairway looks west down a side street and across St John Street

A roof top terrace looks across to the Randolph hotel; the visitors here use the same gesture as the statue over the main front entrance, shielding their eyes from the sun

At the western end of the roof top terrace there is a small patch of grass

The new central light well and stairway is a striking feature, and this Roman (?) statue is perfectly positioned to welcome and guide visitors.

The layers of stairs remind me of MC Escher’s work.
