Yashica-Mat Y

Very chuffed to have won a Yashica-Mat in eBay auction recently. This camera looks to be in very good condition and at first disappointed me because the shutter appeared to be unreliable. However, a bit of advice from Oxfam Oxford’s camera expert (the man who organises their occasional camera sales) suggests that the problem may go away with usage. On Saturday I walked around Oxford running an outdated 120 film through the camera, and I can’t wait now to see the results. The shutter fired every time, I think.

The second picture is a crop of the top plate Y symbol.
