The new Bonn Square

July | Oxford | the new Bonn Square

It’s July in Oxford and the streets swell with summer students, tourists and even the odd resident. Bonn Square was redeveloped last year to much controversy and protest. It reopened this past winter to little use (it was cold and wet), but now summer is here and the true value of this public space has been established. Although trees were cut down, they have been replaced and provide welcome shade for people just hanging out.

  1. I like the movement and groupings of people in this image. Reminds of old street scenes of Paris long ago.

  2. If you hadn’t told me I’d have thought it was somewhere on the Continent (aging myself using that phrase).

I went to college in Oxford so it’s a nice memory. Thanks.
