Clear skies over Oxford: the Eyjafjallajokull eruption hits home

I’ve been fortunate enough not to have had travel plans disrupted by the volcano in Iceland. One of the better consequences has been the skies over Oxford – two days of clear blue skies with no clouds (a natural weather phenomenon) and no airplane contrails.

The first picture is a ‘polar coordinates distortion’ of an eleven-frame 360-degree panorama (each frame in portrait orientation) taken on a Sony A100 with its kit lens at 18mm (27mm full-frame equivalent) (below).
