Testing film scanning

St Mary’s church, Bungay, Suffolk

This is a scan of a 35mm film negative at 2400 dpi, using a Canoscan 3200F flatbed scanner (which also has facilities to scan negatives). It works for picture sizes up to this (Flickr’s ‘medium’ size), but beyond this the limitations of the scanner are quite apparent.

Some adjustments to the picture were made in the scanning software and in Picasa.

The moat at Framlingham Castle

The moat at Framlingham Castle

The moat is long dried up, but here you can see the pillars that supported the bridge over it at one of the entrances.
