Pitstone windmill, Ivinghoe

Thought to be oldest windmill in Britain and now in the care of the National Trust.

I’m sure there’s a technical term for this bright red wheel at the back of the windmill, used to orientate the face of the windmill directly into the wind. I liked the shadows on this winter afternoon.
