Hallsands 1

Hallsands is a ruined coastal hamlet near Start Point on the south coast of Devon.

The village was devastated during a storm about a century ago, and a few ruins remain along with a couple of houses that are still inhabited.

First four pictures taken with a Minolta Vectis S-1 and 80-240 APO lens with rather outdated film (hence the poor image quality)

I’m a huge fan of North Devon, but this South Devon beach took my breath away.

This summer’s major holiday was in Catalonia and Barcelona. Kicking off a selection of pictures on this blog are a couple of panoramas from the Costa Brava, about 100km north of Barcelona in and around Begur.

These pictures are created using the photomerge facility in Photoshop Elements.

Schardam winter

Filed under: coast, film, landscape, Minolta Maxxum 9000, Pro 800Z, Schardam, The Netherlands — Howard @ 8:00 am

Near Hoorn, The Netherlands, late December 2009; one of my favourite spots in West Friesland.

Minolta 9000 and Fujicolor Pro 800Z film: I like the cold, muted quality this film has under these conditions.
